MF SuperSoft Review - The Premium Beginner Soft Top Surfboard

If you're a beginner surfer looking for the perfect board to help you get started, a soft top surfboard is a great place to start. The MF SuperSoft boards are designed specifically for beginner surfers, with features that make them easy to ride, stable, and durable. Not to mention - they're safer. In this post, we'll take a closer look at the features of the premium soft top surfboard built for beginner surfers - The MF SurperSoft.

  1. Soft Top Construction: The first and most obvious feature of a soft top surfboard is the soft foam layer on the top of the board. This layer provides extra grip and stability, making it easier for beginners to balance and control the board. The foam also provides a bit of cushioning, which can be helpful when you're first starting out and taking falls. The SuperSoft boasts a more thoughtful soft top construction that is softer and (importantly) lighter than similar boards due to a hybrid mix of foam layers. It's perfect for Groms of all ages!

  2. Durable Materials: Because beginner surfers are likely to take a few tumbles, a premium soft top surfboard is built with durable materials that can withstand wear and tear. We're always looking for a board with a strong core, reinforced rails, and a tough, scratch-resistant surface, and the SuperSoft delivers exactly that. Sure you can find a cheap beginner board (looking at you WaveStorm) but after 2 years of use they tend to peel, become waterlogged, and find a new home at the landfill (queue audience boos). Note - We've found the same is true for CatchSurf, even though they're not cheap, their lifespan is only about 2-3 years.

  3. Beginner-Friendly Shape: The supersoft is the premium soft top surfboard for beginners because it's designed with a wide, stable shape that's easy to balance on, but also allows for beginners to progress their surfing. The board is easy to paddle, with a slightly flattened rocker that helps it glide smoothly through the water. As all good beginner boards it also has a rounded nose and tail, which helps with stability and maneuverability. Other boards in the category have what we call "pizza box rails" that cause even the most advanced surfers to fall when bottom turning and engaging the rail. You won't find that here.

  4. Fins: Fins are an important feature of any surfboard, and a premium soft top surfboard for beginners will typically have a set of removable fins that can be adjusted to suit different conditions. A thruster (3 fin) setup is ideal for most beginner surfers, as it provides a good balance of stability and maneuverability. In the case of the MF Supersoft, you get the Mick Fanning multi-box which allows you to run real fins (oooo-ahhhh). Typically what you see in beginner boards is a rubbery material with screw in design that is great when you don't care or know any better, but limits a surfer's ability to learn and progress - which ultimately that's what we're all here for right?

  5. Eye-Catching Design: Finally, a premium soft top surfboard for beginners should look good! While the design won't affect how the board performs in the water, it's always nice to have a board that looks cool and makes you feel good when you're out on the waves. The SuperSoft deliver on this and you can feel a little bit more unique rolling up with one of these compared a costco special.

Overall, the MF Supersoft is the premium soft top surfboard for beginner surfers. It's easy to ride, stable, durable, and well-designed. If you're just starting out in the world of surfing, investing in a quality board like this will help you progress faster and enjoy the sport more fully.

There's a reason it's #1 in our store for several years now!
